The BirthPlace features comfortable, private, modern rooms that are beautifully designed, with wood-paneled cabinets, flat-screen televisions, wireless internet access, XM radio, personal refrigerators, and a sofa bed. Postpartum rooms also include these amenities. This birth center also has signature dining options, with healthy fine-dining room service similar to what you’d get in a five-star hotel! Moms and visitors can order all day, with prompt service and delivery. Specialty menus are available to accommodate all kinds of diets.
The Birthplace Westwood gives patients souvenir birth certificates, with key information about your baby’s day of birth as a memento of your hospital stay. Other services include valet parking, ATM machines, a gift shop, a notary public, and interpreter services.
High-risk pregnancy care is available for patients, where they are cared for by a team of specially trained nurses and perinatologists. Antepartum care is also available for women expecting twins or triplets. Beside Labor and Delivery, there is a fetal diagnostic unit where nurses perform prenatal tests such as ultrasounds. Special monitoring during pregnancy happens in the fetal diagnostic unit. When it comes time to give birth, obstetricians are always available in the unit and can provide a safe delivery in the case that your primary doctor cannot be there for the birth. Obstetrical anesthesia is available 24 hours a day for pain relief and for emergency C-sections.
The Newborn Care Unit at The BirthPlace is where nurses observe babies who need extra attention. But the hospital prefers for newborns to stay in the room with their parents as much as possible.

There is also a support group for families of babies in the NICU. The BirthPlace has a Level III NICU facility equipped with everything necessary to take care of critically ill babies or babies requiring intensive care. Staffed by UCLA neonatologists, this NICU provides comprehensive care and support for babies needing specialized care.
